Range Brewing x Slide Coffee Roasters

No Thanks I’m Sweet Enough is our collab with Slide Coffee Roasters. Slide aligns with our business values keeping community and sustainability as their highest priority.

The name of this beer is a nod to any barista who has ever been subject to the phrase ‘no thanks, I’m sweet enough’ during their working day.   The beer itself is a collision of worlds; we as brewers survive on coffee, and coffee people LOVE a beer.

After a cupping session, we chose the Colombia El Indio, a very full-bodied coffee with big fruity flavours. Rather than just throwing any ol’ coffee into a beer, we really wanted to highlight the flavour that coffee can bring to the table, and also compliment it with a very well balanced sour ale.

We started with a mixed ferment Belgian style base and added raspberry and tart cherry, bringing the best of both worlds together in a refreshing sour ale that kicks you into gear. 50KG of coffee was expertly roasted to perfection and supplied to us by Aaron of Slide. We cold-brewed 125L of coffee at the brewery and it was blended in during conditioning.

The aroma is all coffee upfront. With huge hits of freshly ground coffee, light espresso roast, with a backend fruit hit. On the palate, the mix of berry fruitiness and coffee blends together in stunning fashion. Providing zippy notes of cherry, raspberry and blueberry, with a medium tartness that lets you know you’re drinking a sour beer. The coffee is ever-present, particularly on the backend where the flavour sinks in and lingers to perfection. This beer is everything we were hoping it would be and we highly recommend it to any coffee or sour lover.
